THE MIGHTY NUMBERS OF DEATH AND THE MIGHTY NUMBERS OF LIFE  2014-04-14

On April 1 we decided to take a break and to finally proceed to a checking of the recovery of the devastation in the north of Cebu. Sheila and me joined by car, but while in "normal" times, we left the car several days on the parking of the pier in Maya, we thought this will be too dangerous in the aftermath of Haiyan. Conchology's driver, Nestor, brought back the car to Cebu. One of the side effects of the typhoon was the escape of hundreds of prisoners in Tacloban city. While many turned back to the destroyed prison, many were also taking their freedom and it is said that dozens landed on Bantayan Island. In Cebu, many posters of "wanted" escaped people are around in malls and the like.
