The week went fast on Mactan Island. We got constant rains, occasionally nice weather in the mornings at the beginning of this week, but in the afternoon rains. And the last three days we are in the tail of the gigantic typhoon VONGFONG. This animalistic typhoon is virtually equal in force of the one destroying a gigantic track of the Philippines. It is heading towards China now and we all keep our breath. In the Olango channel in front of my house the waves are huge and the sky is dark, the wind traveling to the typhoon, in the opposite direction it should go. The Visayans call this wind "the wind of the devil", and one better keeps the boat in the harbor when it arrives.
